Hair Care Guide
Why This Matters
Raw hair requires proper care. Following these guidelines ensures your KMD hair lasts 3+ years. Damage from improper care is not covered under our quality guarantee.
01. Before Installation
- Detangle gently from ends to roots using a wide-tooth comb
- Do a strand test before any color or chemical treatment
- Co-wash or use sulphate-free shampoo before your first install
- Allow hair to air dry completely before installation
02. Washing & Conditioning
- Wash with a sulphate-free, moisturising shampoo every 1–2 weeks
- Always wash in a downward motion — never circular
- Use a deep conditioner or hair mask weekly
- Rinse with cool water to seal the cuticle and maintain shine
03. Heat Styling
- Always use a heat protectant spray before any heat
- Keep flat irons and curling wands below 375°F / 190°C
- Limit heat styling to 2–3 times per week
04. Coloring
KMD raw hair is color-ready and accepts bleach beautifully. Always do a strand test, use a professional-grade developer (max 30 vol), and deep condition after any chemical service. Color services are at the customer’s own risk.
05. Nightly Care
- Wrap hair in a silk or satin scarf every night
- Moisturise with a light leave-in or hair oil 2–3 times per week
- Store unused hair in the KMD satin dust bag provided
